Quando se fala de música comtemporânea portuguesa é impossível não referir os Blasted Mechanism. Com a noção que este blog tem a possibilidade de chegar a vários cantos do Mundo, esta é sem dúvida uma das bandas que eu elegeria para dar a conhecer a música que se faz em Portugal, pois em quinze anos de existência têm produzido, o que na minha opinião é avassalador.
Não existe escala que possa pontuar a originalidade deste grupo. A sua criatividade espelha-se não só na sua música como no facto de terem inventado instrumentos - o bambuleco, o kalachakra e o onozone - de terem um léxico próprio e encarnarem personagens diferentes, "mutantes", personagens únicas para cada "geração" (albúm).
O seu som é único, facilmente reconhecível e tem mudado a forma como muita gente encara a música. As mensagens são um misto de tribalismo, espiritualidade, intervenção, lugar no cosmos.
Os vídeos são igualmente únicos, de uma qualidade excepcional e o site oficial da banda vale mesmo a pena visitar pois também neste espaço abunda a criatividade.
